Mexico

Marcela and I are back from taking Andrew to Monterrey, Mexico. We meet up with Marcela's Mom and left Andrew to spend a month with her in Guadalajara, Mexico. It took 12 hours for us to travel from Nacogdoches to Marcela's sister's house in Monterrey. 2 hours of that to get all the permits and stuff at the border. Andrew was great he never complained never asked to stop he went when we stopped and had no problems at all. I was impressed for a 6 year old he travels better than most adults. Marcela and I came back Wednesday a little slower took some pictures stopped for dinner in Humble with my Dad and enjoyed each others company. She was espically nice since she was not frustrated at me for not putting her bag in the truck which meant she came home in the same clothes she went down in and with no makeup. Sorry again....We had a great trip but as the pic shows the road is littered with reminders of those who didn't make it so we thank God each time for letting us come home safe and pray it will be his will in July when we make this trip again to pick Andrew up.

The Hill

Congrats Angie & Cathy

Congrats again to Angie & Cathy on their wedding on the 23rd of May. Here is a pic that Glenn got that day.

Bo & Tiff

We had a great time these past 3 days with Bo and Tiff. It is amazing that in three days they managed to fit in so much from bowling and shooting pool with Marcela and I to going and giving presentations about Alaska to both Andrew's and Mom's classes. As well as making dinner for everyone. Hate that the trips are so short but love the time we get to share with them. Can't wait till they come back. They are gone west to see Addison (and Tracy & Lauren) and Tiff's family. Then back here for five more days. I can't wait.

New Twits or Tweeters?

I don't know what you call someone who is on Twitter, but a Twit or maybe a Tweeter either sounds funny I guess Tweeter is better. Either way we have two new Tweeters Marcela and Bo joined as well as now the studio is tweeting. Other family news Bo and Tiff will be here Monday yeah we all so excited... Andrew is going to Houston for the weekend to hang out with Grandpa. Last but not least congrats to Cathy and Angie on their wedding this weekend. Sorry we can't make it but we will be here working at another wedding for the studio.

Twitter

Are any of you on twitter? I know I thought it was kinda strange but it is kinda fun it is free of course and for those iphone users there is a free app called -twitterrific- I got the free one only difference between it and thew $4 one is a small ad bar on the tweet viewing screen. You can set your twitter to text you with each update or let you just check it manually. If you don't have unlimited text don't do the text I get hundreds of updates from the few I have on my list. Addison

I missed Addison's dedication but I know it was a wonderful event I remember Andrew's Christening such a happy day. I am proud of Lauren and Tracy and I think you both make great parents. I am glad to see how dedicated you are to raise your child knowing Christ. Lauren and Tracy have not seen this picture it is an announcement Marcela made a few days ago and we all loved it. (Lauren I have a copy of it here for you)

Father of Texas

Every May The guys at Pro Show Live and the wonderful staff at the Nacogdoches Expo Center put together the Father of Texas show a great night of country music last night they entertained us all with Jonny Cooper, Bleu Edmondson, and the head liner, the 2009 ACM Top New Male Vocalist, Jake Owen. Here are a few pictures of Jake from the show.

Taekwondo

Andrew has been taking Taekwondo classes and he is really loving it. Since these pics were taken he has earned his Orange Striped Belt and his first black stripe for that belt. He is very proud. Marcela has also started taking classes and is doing really well but she didn't want to take pictures in her uniform.

The Calendar

So many of you keep asking about the calendar so I put the cover on here Marcela did all of the session for the inside and the layout design I shot the cover picture and did the retouch work up on all the images it was a different experience we welcome new challenges like this. Marcela is working on a fashion series for models and clothing/ cosmetics lines.

Sorry I Forgot....

I reread some old post and relized I never posted any pictures of Andrews puppy like I said I would. Andrew named him Rex he is now 6 months old. He is half Dachshund and half Yorkshire Terrier.

A Great Day for Golf

Marcela & I Got out this week for a great round of golf well we actually

played nine then played with the camera getting some fun stuff. (left) Is a shot Marcela snapped of me while I was getting ready to drive on Hole 2. Hers is one I have been wanting to do for a while it the "Preparation, Concentration, Celebration" on Hole 14 one of my favorite Par 3's (and yes Tracy I look for my driver head each time I play it). The weather forecast looks great for this week I plan on getting in another round.

Look Daddy it's the Lion

I love this picture Marcela took it with her iphone while we were at the zoo with the Kindergarten from TJR. It was so much fun to take 125 plus 5 and 6 year old kids to the zoo. Andrew loved it he has been before but it is a different experience to go with all you friends. We all rode the train as well and the kids thought it was so cool they were all talking about it during lunch. I can't believe he is almost done with Kinder.

I can't remember to do this thing....

I have managed to create this now 8 post in 16 months and I am now creating not one but two new blogs for the studio I guess I really have to keep up with those post. I am excited to get them going if you want to see them they are silverlionphotogrphy.blogspot.com and silverlionpromotions.blogspot.com they are new and the updates sould be coming in the next few days.

On a personal note I found a new place to golf. High price for water hazards.

Wow Almost a Year

Ok I am very bad at keeping this up but I am going to attempt to start working it better. It was a great 2008 for the studio. We have just finished two Bridal shows in Lufkin and we are meeting with a Number of Brides this week looking to add a few more weddings to the year. I enjoy the journey with the brides from the first meeting to the final delivery we make such good friends with all of our Brides and Grooms that I am a little sad when it is over but luckily we have been in contact with most all of our Brides and are even lucky enough to have already started Baby's First year with a number of our past Brides. To all the Brides we meet this past two weeks it was a pleasure meeting each and everyone of you I hope for the opportunity to be there for you to deliver portraits that will show the real you and capture all the wonderful memories for you to cherish for the rest of your lives. I hopefully will be better at updating this over the up coming year. I the next post we will get to see the new addition to the family (our new puppy). As well as some new friends of the studio and some up dates on the family. Till then.....
